About

I’m a Christian, an introvert (which made it interesting growing up in a Pentecostal church!), and a writer. I write primarily for Evangelical Christian audiences so it makes sense that I’m a member of the Evangelical Press Association.

I’m a native of New Castle, Indiana where I graduated from Walter P. Chrysler Memorial High School (home of the world’s largest high school fieldhouse and birthplace of Robert Indiana). Later I attended Evangel College in Springfield, Missouri earning a B.A. in English and Biblical Studies, with a minor in Psychology. I earned a Certificate in Theology and Ministry from Princeton Theological Seminary in 2015. More recently I’ve taken online graduate level theology courses from Cairn University.

Over the past decades I’ve project managed and edited dozens of books with Bridge Publishing (where I also acquired titles) and Wiley. At Wiley I worked in the Consumer Dummies division — the “For Dummies” books. I was also the editor for Christian Bookseller Magazine and worked at AT&T in New Jersey for about eight years. Additionally I’ve worked in various communications-related roles for Rolls-Royce Aerospace, Best Access Systems, Bluffton University, and more.

I’m a regular contributor to the Christian Freelance Writers Network blog and occasionally review books for the Englewood Review of Books.

I’ve written for the American Bible Society, Adams Media, Alpha Books Penguin Putnam, Bible Advocate, Bookstore Journal, Christian Century, Christian Herald, Christian Standard, The Disciple, Englewood Review of Books, Fundamentalist Journal, Grand Canyon University, Harper & Row Publishers, Here’s Life Publishers, Influence, In Touch Ministries, Macmillan Computer Publishing, Moody Press, Net Results, Outcomes Magazine, Outreach Magazine, Pentecostal Evangel, Prentice-Hall Publishers, Sallie Mae, Time Life, Tyndale House, Union Gospel Press, Zondervan, and others.

My poetry has appeared in Agape Review, alive now!, Amethyst Review, Arkenstone, As Surely As The Sun, Bible Advocate, Christian Herald, Christianity & Literature, Eternity, His Magazine, Midwest Poetry Review, Pentecostal Evangel, Wellspring, Youth Alive!, and others.

I’ve interviewed Francis & Edith Schaeffer, Michael Card, Hal Lindsey, Richard Foster, Eugene Peterson, Chuck Swindoll, Shirley Ceasar, Richie Furay, Kurt Kaiser, Luci Shaw, Steve Sjogren, Jerry Jenkins, Steve Camp, Calvin Miller, and others.

I was the ghostwriter for Preparing for Battle: A Spiritual Warfare Handbook by Mark Bubeck published by Moody Press. I contributed to God’s Man: A Daily Devotional Guide to Christlike Character edited by Don Aycock (Kregel), Inside the Mysteries of the Bible: New Perspectives on Ancient Truths (American Bible Society/Time Life Books), and the NIV Men’s Devotional Bible (Zondervan). I was the project editor for and contributor to A Cup of Comfort Devotional Daily Reminders of God’s Love and Grace (Adams Media). I authored the novel The Hungering Dark: Awakening (WestBow Press/Thomas Nelson & Zondervan) and have written three volumes of poetry.

I live with my wonderful wife, BethAnn, and our two rescue cats, Watson and Sherlock, in a lovely twin in Lansdale, Pennsylvania. She is originally from Oreland, PA and works at Lakeside Educational Network.

I also walked on fire. Once.
